Greenlight Stadium has officially been cleared to host our 2020/21 Star Times Uganda Premier League home games after meeting the minimum requirements for Club licensing. Besides meeting the requirements, the home of the caterpillars also attained a FUFA Stadia Level 3 status.
In a letter addressed to UPL clubs, received by our Club CEO, the Deputy CEO incharge of Football at FUFA, Mr. Kiiza Dicholas acknowledged that Onduparaka and 6 other Clubs had their stadia passed fit after meeting the minimum requirements.
The sixteen (16) clubs that applied for a club license were subjected to the club licensing process and the following has been decided: –
Category I: Seven (7) clubs were able to submit the minimum requirements and have their stadia at FUFA level 2 and 3 which is acceptable for UPL. These Clubs therefore qualify for a full license;- Read part of the letter which continued to list the Clubs that met the requirements as Vipers SC, Wakiso Giants FC, Express FC, MYDA, KCCA FC, Police FC and Onduparaka FC.
Works on Greenlight Stadium haven’t been an easy ride for the club management given the rough times the club has been riding on, but Facility Manager Moses Pariyo while speaking to the Club Media expressed gratitude to God that the efforts they put yielded positive results.
It’s been a huge task for us to get the stadium ready and we’re just grateful to God that it was inspected and we met the requirements as demanded by FUFA. Last season we were affected so much when we had to host some games away from Home and having our stadium reach upto FUFA Level 3 in such a short time given our Challenges really sends a big message to everyone about how our management is dedicated to do the right things and to us this is a Win. We will keep building on such wins to make Onduparaka FC a better club.
Moses Pariyo Noted.
Onduparaka continues with its preparations for the upcoming season scheduled to kickoff in Early December.
